Christian Louboutin Strassed Shoes

Here's a repost from my other blog:

I am crazy for shoes and I will never say no to a chance of owning another one. A couple of weeks back I found a Christian Louboutin shoe and I fell in-love with it. Oh yes, I am speaking of the red-sole shoe that's a favorite of Jennifer Lopez, Christina Aguilera, Kim Kardashian to name a few.

Shoe so sexy!!!

Christian Louboutin's trademark glossy red soles are an undisputed stamp of fashion excellence. Since the launch of his exquisite eponymous label in 1991, the French designer has stayed true to his goal - to 'make shoes that are like jewels'. From razor-sharp stilettos to lace-up boots and studded sneakers, Christian Louboutin is every woman's go-to for heavenly heels and covetable accessories.

While salivating on the throngs of these red soles shoes (the trademark was registered on January 1, 2008, almost six months after the action was initiated), I happen to read about the talented Joseph LiMandri who can be commissioned to strass(crystallize) your favorite pair of high-end pumps, flats, sandals, or even boots. He has a blog and an Etsy store in case you would be interested to look at his creations too.

Shoe Designer Feature: Christian Louboutin

Louboutin wants his shoes to be worn by customers who eat real food.

With several swoops of his pen, he had managed to make Blahnik’s princessy slingbacks look as if they were meant for ladies who spend their days eating charity lunches of chicken salad and melon balls. The Louboutin woman might order a rare hamburger. “I’ll do shoes for the lady who lunches, but it would be, like, a really nasty lunch, talking about men,” Louboutin said. “But where I draw the line, what I absolutely won’t do, is the lady who plays bridge in the afternoon!

One thing I detest, I have to say, is when a shoe is too soft, and it’s molding to the foot,” Louboutin said. “This is quite disgusting. And I really, really hate incredibly long shoes, where the last is very pointy, almost like Aladdin.

What's your favorite Louboutin shoe design?

Shoelove at First Sight

I've seen flyers and catalogues of the latest designs of SM Parisian shoes since the fashion week last October and I never really did pay much attention to the designs because I just got fixated with Janylin and CMG among others. A couple of weeks ago, I was browsing the StyleBible website and saw this interesting lace-up booties with zipper:

I knew right there and then that I have to own a pair of those shoes. I am never adventurous when it comes to shoes and this will be the first time I would try some chunky heels. I heard they are comfortable too (more comfortable than stilettos for sure). I have yet to try...

I went to SM Makati today and I tried on a pair of red satin Mary Jane stilettos from Janylin (size 65) and I was poised to buy it already. I was ready to hit the cashier but changed my mind because it fit a little funny. The straps are the ones keeping them on my feet. I think they were about half a quarter of an inch larger and the smaller size (size 60) is no longer in stock. I decided not to buy it and continue looking for other designs. When I moved to the Parisian shoes where the booties, wedges and clogs were displayed, I saw the shoes I was crushing on. I tried a pair and it fit me like a glove (size 60). I was ecstatic. I will buy one of the peep-toe clogs if the booties would be comfortable enough for me.

While I had the shoes on, images of what I will be wearing with the shoes flashed in my head. I like how solid the heel looks. It is a 4.5-inch stunner at a very, yes very affordable price - only Php1299.75 (about USD 29.75). Oh by the way, this design comes in tan too.

Now, the test is yet to begin - how many hours can I stand and walk with the shoes on? I wonder if I can survive a day at work without ever complaining. Ha! Iris already told me she has the same pair and it's only comfy for the first 10 minutes. I'll let you all know.
